Born in Canandaigua NY, Pete Kennedy grew up the youngest of 5 Irish kids of Marian and T. Hamilton Kennedy. His dad "Ham" was elected as Mayor of the city of Canandaigua and served 14 years while his youngest son Pete stole the title "Mayor". Ham earned the title and Pete pilfered it.
Pete helped a bunch of his buds at St. Marys School to found an actual radio station that played music over the PA system during lunch. Many of the nuns were less than impressed by the musical selections this young mob played over WSMR. Later, "Mayor" also served as captain of his beloved Canandaigua Academy football team the Braves.
After successfully graduating from SUNY Geneseo where he spent many hours "studying" humanity while DJing and bartending at the world famous Inn Between, he headed to the bright lights of the big city of Rochester NY where he's been rockin' Rochester radio waves for 25 years, now back on the air at 95.1 the Brew.
When not heckling callers and having fun with them on air, he's actively out working' the streets at various community and charitable events. Last year alone he was involved in over 120 events and has plans for many more in 2012.
Sorry to put a damper on your holiday spirit as the clock ticks towards Christmas but we've got word from our buds at News 10NBC of tricky weather ahead.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued an ice storm warning for much of Western New York on Saturday.
The warning is in effect starting at 4 p.m. and will effect Monroe, Orleans, Erie, and Niagara counties. The warning will remain in effect until noon on Sunday. Officials say, "The accumulation of ice will cause extremely hazardous, if not impossible, driving conditions."
They warn to use extreme caution if you are traveling. The storm could also result in power outages for the areas affected.
Meteorologist Kevin Williams says, “Periods of light rain this afternoon will be freezing on some surfaces in areas near Lake Ontario causing potentially slick roads. Heavier rain and slightly colder air later today and tonight will increase the risk of significant icing, especially for areas near and north of Thruway.”
Nothing gets you in the Christmas spirit more than watching a bunch of drunken Santas duke it out on the mean streets of New York City! Watch how the less-than-jolly Santas went at it this past weekend after too much holiday cheer! Merry Christmas too all! Watch below...
On Sunday's Xmas special episode of "The Family Guy" a miracle was hatched. Brian the Dog, a family fixture on the Fox show since 1999 came back to life.
The pooch was hit and killed by a car on the Nov. 24th episode which sent fans of the dog into a tizzy on twitter. Sunday Stewie told a mall Santa how much he missed Brian and all he wanted for Christmas was to have his dog back. And thus the Christmas miracle and surprise was launched as Brian the Dog returned. Merry Christmas to dog lovers everywhere!
