Weekdays from 3pm - 7pm
Born in Canandaigua NY, Pete Kennedy grew up the youngest of 5 Irish kids of Marian and T. Hamilton Kennedy. His dad "Ham" was elected as Mayor of the city of Canandaigua and served 14 years while his youngest son Pete stole the title "Mayor". Ham earned the title and Pete pilfered it.
Pete helped a bunch of his buds at St. Marys School to found an actual radio station that played music over the PA system during lunch. Many of the nuns were less than impressed by the musical selections this young mob played over WSMR. Later, "Mayor" also served as captain of his beloved Canandaigua Academy football team the Braves.
After successfully graduating from SUNY Geneseo where he spent many hours "studying" humanity while DJing and bartending at the world famous Inn Between, he headed to the bright lights of the big city of Rochester NY where he's been rockin' Rochester radio waves for 25 years, now back on the air at 95.1 the Brew.
When not heckling callers and having fun with them on air, he's actively out working' the streets at various community and charitable events. Last year alone he was involved in over 120 events and has plans for many more in 2012.
.....33,000 dollars and 1 2/3 to 5. Those are the numbers part of the sentence handed out today to Melissa Jones of Canandaigua. She is the woman who faked cancer and stole donations that 200 good people made on her behalf. As part of her sentence in Ontario Co. Court Wed., this pathetic woman will spend 1 2/3 years to 5 years in prison and was ordered to repay the $33 thousand as restitution. If you attended one of her fundraisers, keep an eye on the calendar for May 29th when a hearing will be held to determine how to hand out the ca$h, presuming this convicted liar ever pays up.
.....400 dollars and 9 points. New York State is always looking for new ways to get your money. As part of the new budget being put together in Albany, new fines will add up if you are caught texting while driving or talking on a hand held phone. Fines increase to: $150 for the first offense, $200 the second time, and $400 if busted three times within 18 months. And each violation adds 3 points to your license, which of course leads to higher insurance premiums. So, hang up the phone unless you wanna pony up for keeping in touch.
.....4 in 5. That would be 4 different people shot over 5 days in the area of Chili Ave. and Thurston Rd. in the city. One died from the first shooting on Depew St. off Chili. The next day, 2 more were shot on the same street during a vigil honoring the first victim. Then Tues. night another was shot one block away on Salina St. I am not as smart as the cops but I smell gang activity in that area, so stay away.
.....20 million and 20%. TV ratings from last week show that: NCIS (starring Mark Harmon and his snarly face) is the number one TV show with 20 million viewers, followed by Dancing With The Stars and NCIS: Los Angeles. American Idol, the perennial leader in the ratings, has fallen to 4th place overall, losing about 20% of its audience. Guess you haven't latched onto the new judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.
.....43 and 80 million. Speaking of Mariah, Wed. is her 43rd birthday. In her career she has sold 80 million albums. So I bet she's not sweating the ratings. For her birthday present, she can always blame Minaj and her attitude. Ms. Minaj is quoted by US magazine today as saying "I've been spectacular" on the show. If she would show up on time....last week she showed up 13 minutes late for the live show. Would your boss consider if "spectacular" if you always showed up late for work.
