Almost Famous
Jackienutt filling in for Billy this morning! Billy is heading to NYC for the weekend to see a Prince cover band, visit Carnegie Deli, and see a few comedy shows - lucky him! Here's Billy on his way waiting for the train!
Wease watches Almost Famous with Sammy last night, as Sammy see's it for the first time!! The movie is about Cameron Crowe at age 15 touring around with the Almond Brothers! Sammy found a list of top 30 movies of the last decade - Almost Famous was #2!! Next time you watch Almost Famous, keep an eye out for Jimmy Fallon - Wease says you won't even know he's in there. Fallon is in the scene when the plane is going down, and the actor screams out "IM GAY!!!" Wease informs us that it is a semi true story - a lot of characters are true people and some events. Crowe talks about it being a semi-autobiography in multi interviews online, but names and such were changed for "protection." Don't believe the end credits when it disclaims no characters or events were true - Wease says its crap!

Speaking of Jimmy Fallon - rumors going around that NBC is 'grooming' Howard Stern for Fallon's late night show position. Of course Fallon wouldnt be left out in the cold - he would take Jay Leno's position with rumors of his retirement circulating. Wease wants to know why Howard would want to do that when he is already on a successful TV show and has his iconic radio show! Howard is so big now he only works the radio station a couple days a weeks - I guess late night is the only thing left for him to do.
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Taylor Swift!!! She said this about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (who both didnt show much interest in the comment), but the two had made fun of Taylor Swift at previous award shows. Poehler said she is going to hell, but for different reasons! Cute repsonse to a published dis like this from Swift. But like Wease says, the bigger you get the more they will talk shiznitt about you just because of haters!
Tools with Sports
-A tweet sent out from Syracuse University page that Jim Boeheim was asked to retire after this year. Mike Ortiz Jr., the 19-year-old Onondaga Community College student tweeted the post and said he used a source that was correct during the Bernie Fine case. Amazing that this student journalist knows more than normal sports journalists! Tools doesn't believe anyone is asking Boeheim to retire, but with all the money he has - he just might retire!
-Of course we get distracted by talking about movies and Wease' going on about Almost Famous. They also talked about movies that flopped during box offices, but then came back through the years - Shawshank Redemption for example!
-Syracuse wins last night 78-57! & Sabres play tonight
-Razorsharks open up the season tonight at Blue Cross Arena against the Indiana Splash

Bad News Yankee's
Sorry Yankee fans, but A-Rod is in A LOT of trouble. Long story short he is running a crap charity. A-Rod Family Foundation gave a whopping 1% of his proceeds to charity since it started. He is loosing his tax emept status and might as well shut down the entire charity. He blew smoke in the air about truely caring for the kids and wanting to help. How does A-Rod show his face now - everyone knowing he scammed a bunch of kids? Carmelo Anthony on the other hand gives 87% of all the money he collects directly to his charity - Wease gives almost 100% to Wease Cares.

Veteran Status?
Every job that exists in real life - exists in the military says Wease. If someone is a veteran it doesnt necessarily mean they fought and have seen an actual war, but that they served their term. Wease interviewd a couple guys who he assumed were true vietnam vets - however none of them had ever seen a war. This blew Wease' mind because of the three wars he just recently got out of. Should we start using different levels of veteran status for different military positions? Certain callers say that they served in the military, but a war wasn't going on at the time. Their veteran status discounts and privileges only work at certain places because they did not serve in a war.

Alonzo Bodden
Alonzo is at The Comedy Club in Webster tonight, tomorrow and Saturday - Don't miss him!! He poses in this picture with a Mr. T bobble head that decorates Wease desks along with many others. A very large man (6'3"), Wease wants to know what comic could beat up Bodden and the answer... Rob Schneider (apparently he's a fighter!). Alonzo played as a bouncer in many different movies - The Girl Next Door is his favorite because he was working a strip club! duhhh Wease says Bodden can pose as a basketball player anytime he wants - he's very "jordanesc" says Wease! Of course Bodden did play basketball & he says height does not always matter you still need skill! Bodden says no matter what he would always trip people - he had to start thinking of some way to win he said
Hot Girl of the Day!!
Mila Kunis because she is my (Jackienutt) favorite actress, & is super sexy - She even won Sexiest Women of 2012!!!

Coach Cliff Levingston
He is the new coach for the Razorsharks! He has two NBA championship rings while playing for Chicago Bull and the Atlanta Hawks. He was having an Internet debate last night about the funniest NBA player? Cliff says Barkley! Wease brings up his Florida bar story with Dennis Rodman and how Rodman wasn't very pleasant. Unfortunately Cliff said that he never got a chance to play with him. Rodman is in the news lately for getting kicked out of a bar in the hotel he was staying at in NYC. He was showboating and yelling about his time spent in North Korea & just being very drunk and loud.
Praise Jesus!!
If you're not Catholic and watching the whole Pope scandal Wease says you have to be loving it. There is a list of people who shouldnt be in the congression, even though other clergy men were well aware of the actions. A poll says that majority of Catholics want a new, young Pope in the position. What does the Pope do after they retire? Wease says tour to make money, but Levingston says the Pope just had all the money. Wease brings up Jordan doing commericals when he is a huge star and doesnt need the extra money. The whole conversation started when a caller mentioned a band called the Slide Brothers which includes Robert Randolph and the Campbell Brothers. The song we listened too mentioned a lot about jesus!
Money & Fame
Levingston debates a comment from a caller who said athletic contracts aren't real because athletes don't receive all the money stated in the paperwork - it's all dependent on when they actually play. But Levingston proved them wrong by saying that basketball contracts are set-in-stone permanent, unlike football or baseball contracts. Basketball players biggest expenses are their families and entourages. Kim Kardashian is paid half a million to appear at a club in Las Vegas, but Wease is curious where/how is that money made back? Wease said Floyd Mayweather, a legendary boxer, was paid $100,000 just to show up in the ring to fight.
Geezers V. Douchebags
Scott, Pauly & Jackienutt (DBags) versus Wease, Alonzo & Joe Lomonaco (Geezers)

GEEZERS WIN!!!!!
Safe Driving
Alonzo tells us that in California, it is still legal to ride inbetween the lanes with a motorcycle. He says it isn't scary until you look into the cars and see all the drivers texting and talking on their cell phones. Alonzo says the scariest time was when he saw a man with an iPad placed on the steering wheel so the driver could drive and email at the same time. Texting and driving is almost as dangerous as being drunk and driving! Pauly reminds us all that people put make up on, change while driving, eat and drink while driving which could all be just as dangerous as driving drunk.

Watertowns New Crazy Law
On Monday with a 3:2 vote, Watertown ammended a law that allowed four extra people to be roommates in a single bedroom apartment. The new law allows ZERO people to live with you, unless you are married or related. This impedes on engaged couples, friends, and people who generally can't afford an apartment by themselves. Wease says if he were on-air in Watertown he wouldnt drop the topic until he completely exhausted it out! Alonzo says it is just bored people trying to cause a raucous.
Tomorrow's Show
We get ready for the weekend as tomorrow is, thank goodness, FRIDAYYYY :) Marshall Fine gives us a film review at 7 a.m. of current movies he's seen. Also Alonzo Bodden joins us again & don't miss him all weekend at The Comedy Club. Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice!
