Are Bad Seats Worth It?/Briar Lissow's Stocking

Wease started the show by saying that moments before we went on the air he got an e-mail with a list of Fleetwood Mac tour dates.  The closest they're coming to here is Toronto.  He says that he advises people to only make the trip up there for the show if they get decent seats.  He said that he can't stand bad seats.. ESPECIALLY if the event is on television where you can have the comfort of your own home AND have a better view without spending the money.  Billy agrees.. saying he once attended a stadium concert and regretted it big time.  The conversation changed topics to something funny that happened at Jamie's house the other day.  His wife went out to buy their daughter Briar her first Christmas stocking.. and she chose the one pictured below.. with a black angel.  Jamie wonders if it's going to look bad when they have their friends over (they are black).  Is it going to look like the Lissows are trying too hard to be politically correct?  Here's the stocking:

Jovan Belcher Details & Audio

We've learned a lot more this morning about The Kansas City Chiefs' Jovan Belcher murder-suicide.  We learned that hours before he committed his crimes.. he was found by police sleeping in a car in the parking lot of his girlfriend's apartment complex around 2:30am by police.  They asked him questions and ended up deciding that he wasn't up to anything bad and they encouraged him to go inside the building to his girlfriend's apartment and go to bed.  Meanwhile, we now know that he was angry at his baby mama (his OTHER girlfriend) for going out clubbing.  A few hours later is when the whole crime went down.  We got our hands on some audio from a friend of ours show (Schnitt) down in Tampa, Florida.  He got a call from a guy who claims his son was often tortured and bullie by Jovan.  You can listen to that audio here:  Belcher The Bully.

NY Post Subway Death Controversy

The New York Post is at the center of a gigantic controversy right now over whether or not they were out of line for publishing a photo (below) on the cover of their paper yesterday.  The story is that a homeless man pushed another man into the subway tracks and he was unable to get out of their before the train came and ended his life.  A photographer got the picture and the Post printed it and now they're taking a ton of heat for it.  Should they have printed that?  Did the photographer get paid and if he did.. that isn't right.. right?  We talked about it and all pretty much decided that they were wrong to print that picture but think that they were a victim of the vicious 24/7 news cycle and the pressure to ALWAYS have something shocking to sell.  Here's the cover in question:

A descendant of Shakespeare?

We're set to interview Karen Klein after the news with Doug.. but Karen and her crew showed up early because they are filming a documentary about her so they needed to set up.  Wease brought one of the documentarians on mic just to learn more about him because he learned that he had a cool accent.  Sure enough.. he has an accent and we quickly learned that he is from New Zealand.  We asked him what his name is and he told us that it's Paul Shakespeare.  What!?!?  You're not related are you?  His answer was.. believe it or not.. YES.  He told us that he's actual a distant relative of William Shakespeare.  Here's a picture of young Shakespeare:

Karen Klein in studio

Karen became famous a few months ago when she was the victim of bullying that was caught on video and posted on YouTube.  Karen was a school bus monitor in Greece and some kids spent a long period of time making fun of her and it went public.  It actually turned out to be the 3rd most watched YouTube video of the year (behind Gangnam Style and Kony 2012).  Anyway, Karen is in studio today promote a documentary, a book, and the ballet (tonight) where she'll be on stage with one of the kids from the bus.  Wease and Karen talked about the original experience.  Karen told us that she was just as suprised as anyone else at what ended up happening.  Wease asked her about the money she made (750k) from donations after the video went public.  Karen is now retired and still living in Greece.  Thank you to Sister Karen for coming in this morning:

More w/Karen Klein

Wease went around the room and pulled all of Karen's documentarians on microphone for individual interviews.  The sound guy is from Wales and that was a ton of fun because of the accent and the quiz from Wease on what is famous from Wales.  They talked about travels and Wease told thema bout his travels to Thailand where he says he had the best week of his life with a hooker.  Jamie joked that somewhere there's a hooker in Thailand telling a story about the worst week of her life.  Bringing the conversation back to Karen.. we asked her if she regrets what happened.  She said no.. and of course the money didn't hurt we think.  We went around the room and said we'd all do pretty much anything short of extremely illegal things for 750k.  Wease said he'd even sit for an hour with Rush Limbaugh and listen to him talk and say nothing but "I agree.. good point" to him for $750,000.

Most Fascinating People of 2012

Barbara Walters has made Honey Boo Boo one of her "Most Fascinating People" of the year.. and she doesn't care if you disagree.  She says, quote, "The relationship between Alana and her mother.. that's the story, the two of them.  It's very touching.. it's a love story.  It's a very sweet, loving story."  Barbara's "Most Fascinating People" special airs on ABC next Wednesday.  She'll have 10 selections, and she previously announced seven of the others.  They are.. One Direction, Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, Ben Affleck and Hillary Clinton.  Her MOST "fascinating" person won't be announced until the special airs.. but that still leaves one remaining selection, which will probably be revealed in the coming days so she can drum up more publicity for the show.  We talked about and debated the list a little bit.  Here's Honey Boo Boo:

Most Overpaid Actors

Forbes.com has released its annual list of the Most Overpaid Actors in Hollywood.. and this year's winner (slash) loser is Eddie Murphy.  He's followed by Katherine Heigl, who wasn't on the list last year.  To come up with the list, Forbes takes everybody's last three movies, and calculates how much those movies made for every dollar the star was paid.  Eddie's last three movies were "A Thousand Words", "Tower Heist" and "Imagine That".  And those films only made $2.30 for every dollar he was paid.  Unfortunately for Eddie, Forbes doesn't count animated movies, because then "Shrek Forever After" would have been in there instead of "Imagine That".. and he probably wouldn't even have made the list.  Katherine Heigl only generated $3.40 in box office for every dollar she was paid for "One For the Money", "New Year's Eve" and "Life As We Know It".  They were followed by Reese Witherspoon.. who moved "up" from 4th place last year.  Her movies "How Do You Know", "This Means War" and "Water for Elephants" only banked $3.90 for each buck she was paid.  Here are Hollywood's Most Overpaid Actors, along with how much their last three movies made for every dollar in salary they earned:

#1.) Eddie Murphy, $2.30

#2.) Katherine Heigl, $3.40

#3.) Reese Witherspoon, $3.90

#4.) Sandra Bullock, $5.00 (She was dragged down by the 2009 bomb "All About Steve".  The other two movies they counted were "The Blind Side" and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close".)

#5.) Jack Black, $5.20 (Like Eddie Murphy, he's hurt by Forbes' ban on animated flicks.  "Kung Fu Panda 2" doesn't count for him.  Instead, he's weighed down by "Big Year", "Gulliver's Travels" and the limited release "Bernie".)

#6.)  Nicolas Cage, $6.00  (--He was also #6 last year.)

#7.)  (tie)  Adam Sandler and Denzel Washington,  $6.30  (--Denzel was fifth last year, while Adam was tied with Vince Vaughn for seventh.)

#9.)  Ben Stiller, $6.50  (--Not on the list last year.)

#10.)  Sarah Jessica Parker, $7.00  (--Not on the list last year.)

BTW.. Drew Barrymore was in first place last year.  Will Ferrell topped the list the previous two years, and even BRAGGED about it.  He said, quote, "Isn't that the whole point?  I mean, aren't we all striving to be overpaid?  Apparently I'm living the American dream without even trying."

Nut-Crackin'

Sometimes on The Wease Show.. stuff just comes up.  That's how we got to funny "how'd you hurt your nuts" stories.  We took calls and did a whole bunch of screaming AHHHHH as our callers went thru stories of wedgies that ended in trips to the ER, a guy who had a nail go thru his sack, and a fisherman who had his hook get caught on his junk and had to row himself back to shore to get help.  We thought this might be a funny time to post this video:

Some Listeners Are Dicks

Earlier this morning.. we had bullied bus monitor Karen Klein in studio.  We put a picture of her on The Wease Show Facebook page.. and all we got was HATE.  Wease went thru comment by comment and read the HATE and so as to expose it on the radio and show the ignorance of some people.  Honestly, how anyone can have ANY issue with ANYTHING that Karen Klein has done or is doing is an absolute DICK.  This woman was a victim.  Sure, that led to her making some money after many warm hearted people donated to her but instead of taking the money and running.. she decided to donate her time & some of her money back to the bullying problem.  She's now out and about and working on bringing awareness to the problem.  That makes her a good person.

Wease Cares

We'd like to send a huge THANK YOU to John Kruger.. owner & operator of HEP Sales.  He came in this morning to present a check to Wease Cares.  John took a portion of the sales from any EdenPure Heater, SilverLine Replacement Windowns, and Anderson Doors that he sold so far this Fall and pledged to donate it to Wease's charity.  The final amount of money that ended up getting donated was a total of $2,040.  That's AMAZING!!  Thank you so much to Brother Kruger for coming in this morning:

Ask Wease

Who was a bigger influence of music.. Bob Seger or Pete Seager?  Pete Seegar because Bob was just another guy who made a few catchy songs.

Someone wrote that they're very dissapointed that Wease has become anti pitbull.. after having been a fan of pitbulls in the past.  Why the change in heart Wease?  Wease answered that he's just seen and heard too many times about well trained pitbulls that have never hurt a soul before that have gone off and bitten and hurt someone.

Dear Wease, I'm watching on the webcam this morning and am wondering why you have a bottle of Jameson next to you.. are you drinking this morning?  Wease says that he is drinking this morning to deal with stress.  He's not doing any heavy drinking.. just pouring it in his coffee to give it a kick and he's feeling a bit of a buzz.

What's the best and worst gift you've ever given and received for Christmas?  Wease's worst that he gave was that he once regifted something that someone had given him RIGHT IN FRONT of the person who gave it to him in the first place.  The best gift he has ever gotten is Doreen.  The best gift he has ever given is money.. the worst is a long list that goes on and on and on.
