South Ave... That's Where All The Hippies Meet
Tonight is Marianne's housewarming for her new apartment. What is the appropriate gift. Wine, and wine related accessories.
Wease talks about some local and national news including last night's NFL game, which we'll get into deeper with Tools... an update on the "Molly" overdoses that have been in the news lately... a woman in Pittsburgh who was arrested for parking in her own driveway. We'll get into these stories and more with Doug.
Wease's daughter Diane calls to check on Wease because she'd heard he has a cold. Diane gets a big laugh when Wease talks about germs hitting him in the face, but is overjoyed to hear he's feeling better. She's so much fun to talk to.
Tools With Sports
Wease is bringing good luck to the NY Yankees. They've won 2 in a row ever since Wease bought his Gavi Springut Memorial Cap.
In an ugly game the New England Patriots beat the NY Jets 13-10. Patriots are 2-0 winning a couple games they shouldn't have.
Wease and Pauly are in a Last man Standing pool together. Who did they take for their "Lock Of The Week" with no spread? The Buffalo Bills!!!!! Gutsy pick fellas.
21 years ago . . . in 1992 - The BUFFALO BILLS beat the SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 34-31 in the FIRST PUNT-LESS GAME IN NFL HISTORY. Quarterbacks JIM KELLY and STEVE YOUNG both threw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns.
Not Marshall Fine Movie Reviews
Marsh was stuck in Toronto last night, and is currently on a plane, so Wease himself is our film reviewer for the week, because he saw the new Deniro flick last night.
The Family... Robert DeNiro is hiding out from the mob, living in the Witness Protection Program with his family in a quiet little town in France. But they don't stay hidden for very long because he and his family revert back to their mobster ways.
Michelle Pfeiffer plays his wife, Dianna Agron from "Glee" is one of their two kids, and Tommy Lee Jones is the agent in charge of keeping them alive after the mob figures out where they are.
Wease thought the acting was great, especially Michelle Pfeiffer, but didn't dig the story at all. He's also uncomfortable with how Tommy Lee Jones has aged.... Jones doesn't have bags under his eyes, he has suitcases.
We're pleasantly surprised to have our buddy Elvio fernandes join us in studio, on break from touring with Daughtry. He tells us about a couple flicks he saw recently on PPV that he enjoyed, including Mudd.
Doug With News
Doug joins us in studio this morning because he was on location near us. Doug and Wease talka bout a charity hockey game they had played in together years ago.
Rich Vos Returns
Comedian Rich Vos returns, and talks reality TV, golf, podcasting, and more. I think Rich is still trying to hit on Marianne because he talks about how great she is on the show... funny, knows when to talk, knows when to make Wease food. That thing about her making Wease food is a joke... that's Brooksie's job.
911 Call Gone Good
A 12-year-old Tennessee girl's quick thinking and a 911 dispatcher's quiet calm led to the arrest of two men who broke into the girl's home while she and her sister were home alone.
Bre'Asia Morrow, 12, called 911 as soon as she realized two men were breaking into her family's home last Saturday morning.
On the other end of the line was 911 dispatcher Amanda Miller who told Bre'Asia to find a safe place where she and her sister, 11-year-old Azariah, could hide.
This audio and video from Good Morning America tells the whole story.
Willie asks if the girls are black or white, so we play our old game "Black Or White".... Wease guesses a middle eastern brown of some sort, but they are African American.
We get a call from pizza delivery guy who wants to complain about people that don't tip. He just wants to encourage people that don't tip to do so. Marianne makes a great point, that delivery people are sort of like long distance waiters, so treat them as such. This leads to tipping stories from the crew.
More With Vos
Talking to Rich Vos about TV shows he's done, the Comedy Central Roasts, and Wease tells a great story about the time he got a hooker for the great Rodney Dangerfield.
He Fit The Suit
Elvio tells the story of going to a fancy L.A. wedding, and not having a suit, so needing to buy one. After a little looking around he wound up with a $200 suit, and it was buy 1 get 1 free, from Men's Wearhouse.
At the wedding he felt like people were talking about him behind his back, and felt self conscious about his inexpensive suit. Eventually a soap opera actor that was there came up to Elvio and confirmed that people were talking about the suit. Was it Armani? Gucci? Custom made? Everyone was jealous.
Today is Friday the 13th, and we find out that Wease is superstitious. He doesn't like this date, broken mirrors, black cats, carries the same good luck charms in his pockets to poker, etc... Surprising.
