Friday! Friday! Friday!
Wease starts the morning telling about his Valentine's Day dinner with Doreen at Max's. They wound up closing the place, and partying with the staff towards the end. He THINKS Doreen drove home. She did buy Wease a few gifts, including a book he wanted by musician Al Kooper (not Alice Cooper), but a great listener had already bought it for Wease.
We also touch on a troubled Carnival cruise ship that we've dubbed "The Poop Boat", and the compensation the stranded passengers will receive.... a refund on this cruise, another comp cruise (including airfare and all other costs except gift shop, and gambling losses), plus $500. The general show consensus is that it's a great deal. Later we'll hear audio of passengers on both side of the fence.
Tools With Sports
Basketball fan were looking forward to last night's showdown between the Miami Heat and the OKC Thunder. Not even close... 110-100.
We also debate "Best NBA Player Ever". Jordan? Kobe? Lebron? Magic?
In a tangent that can only happen on The Wease Show... a joke from our prep service about John Mayer pisses off Wease---> talk of Katy Perry's boobs at The Grammys---> Ellen Degeneres and Portia DeRossi at The Grammys---> Portia on "Ally McBeal" with Lucy Lui----> A lesbian kiss between Lucy Lui and Calista Flockhart on the show. I typed all that to show you this....
Marshall Fine Movie Reviews
A Good Day To Die Hard... The fifth "Die Hard" movie has John McClane heading to Russia to save his son Jack . . . completely unaware that Jack is actually a CIA agent trying to stop terrorists from stealing nuclear weapons. Marsh liked the first 4 Die Hard movies, but says this one is terrible (despite a spectacular car chase). 1 star
Safe Haven... Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough star in the latest movie based on a book by Nicholas Sparks. . . the guy who did"The Notebook". She's on the run from her past, settles into a small town, and starts to fall for a widowed store owner. Pretty predictable, but enjoyable if this is the type of flick you like. 2 1/2 stars.
Beautiful Creatues... British actress Alice Englert stars in this supernatural romance as a young witch who falls for a human boy . . . and then learns that if she pursues their forbidden love, her powers will be claimed by dark forces on her 16th birthday. Emma Thompson plays the leader of the dark witches . . . Jeremy Irons is the girl's uncle and leader of the good guys . . . and Emmy Rossum from Showtime's "Shameless" is his daughter, who's already fallen to the dark side. Another flick in the 2 to 2 1/2 star range, but gives me a reason to post this montage of pictures of Emmy Rossum, who I think is one of the most beautiful women in the world.
Ironic Heart Attack
PHOENIX — A 575-pound man who gained a measure of fame as spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill — a Phoenix-area restaurant that unabashedly touts its unhealthy, high-calorie menu — has died.
Friends of 29-year-old Blair River say he died Tuesday, possibly from contracting pneumonia after a bout with the flu.
Restaurant founder Jon Basso told The Arizona Republic that River was more than the larger-than-life caricature he portrayed in promoting the restaurant in Chandler, which includes huge hamburgers, milkshakes and fries cooked in lard on its menu.
Basso said River was a creative genius who had been planning to take part in the shooting of a promotional spot called, "Heart Attack Grill: The Musical."
"Cynical people might think this (River's death) is funny," Basso said. "But people who knew him are crying their eyes out. There is a lot of mourning going on around here. You couldn't have found a better person."
Pauly and Billy both realize that eating like River is bad, but would like to try eating the most fattening thing on the menu at least once, but couldn't maintain a diet of nothing but Heart Attack Grill food... we think. See the menu HERE.
Doug With News
Wease asks Doug if there is someway Channel 13 could not show the lottery winner stories... it makes him mad to see people win that don't deserve it as much as him.
More Cruise Ship Crap
Wease revisits the story of the stranded Carnival Cruise, and how positive most of the passengers have been in interviews since getting back.
We also wonder what type of compensation the crew will get for having to deal with all the hardships on the boat, and still having to serve the customers.
Another good question is... where were the backup generators that the ship should've had?
Chubby's Legal Twist
CHUBBY CHECKER . . . the man behind "The Twist" . . . has filed a lawsuit against the makers of a mobile app called "The Chubby Checker," which claims to estimate the size of a man's JUNK based on his shoe size. He's demanding that the app be removed . . . and he also wants any profits from the app.
Wease thinks Chubby is absolutely right, and that this isn't a frivolous lawsuit. Here is Chubby talking to TMZ...
The Happy Hoo-Ha
We're joined in studio by Mary Elizabeth Nesser, co-owner of the Mark and M.E. Salon, and author of "The Happy Hoo Ha". Rather than tell you about the book myself, check out this review...
Could not pass this book up even though I have never had a Brazilian wax. ME Nesser is a great story teller. I felt like I spent the afternoon in a wax room with her laughing my ass off. It should be called the Hysterically Happy Hoo-Ha. I highly recommend this The Happy Hoo-Ha to anyone who has enjoyed the likes of Chelsea Handler Books or a good episode of Sex in The City.
I might not be ready to get a wax but I am definitely buying ME's next book and keeping my fingers crossed for a movie!
M.E. and Wease discuss a topic that carries over from yesterday... stinky hoo has... plus other hilarious vaginal-centric anecdotes. She even gives Brazillian waxes to guys (ncluding her son).
Happy Hoo Ha Part 2
During the commercial break Wease browsed through M.E. Nessers book, and says everything he read was arousing. He opens the book and reads a few lines, and comes across a story about a guy with a small package, and stands up for guys that may not be that well endowed (even though this isn't Wease's case).
We learn that husbands are allowed at M.E.'s allowed to watch their wives get their "lawns mowed". Mary Elizabeth tells stories of guys that have gone to salons trying to get waxes, just so they could get their junk touched.... not sure if this is pervy or genius.
Even More Vag Talk
M.E. Nesser still wowing us and the audience with Tales Of The Hoo Ha. A caller also wants to know about rectal bleaching.. Wease tells about the wine stain on his butt, and if this process would get rid of it, although he's not really looking for it.
Since we've been talking so much about Brazilian waxes. how about a montage of sexy Brazilian girls.
Wease may be in Fla. next week, but we'll still be here live to inform and entertain. John Ditullio will be guest host Monday, along with Pauly, Billy, and Brooksie at his side... plus maybe a laugh or two from the past. Doug Emblidge will have the legit news, and you're always invited to call with your comments and questions. It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice. See ya.
