Driver in Wrong Way 490 Crash Had Ignition Interlock Device

13 WHAM - "The driver in an overnight crash on 490 East in Perinton had an ignition interlock device on her car, according to deputies.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened early Tuesday morning after a driver who drove the wrong way on Rt. 490 East crashed into a tractor trailer."

"Deputies say they first received a call about a car going westbound on 490E at 1:48 a.m. As deputies were responding, they received a call of a head-on crash on 490E between the Bushnell's Basin and Route 31 exits. The driver of the car is Marissa Pecora, 26, of Webster. She was trapped in her car and unconscious. Crews got her out of the car and say she has only minor injuries.

Travis Britt of Georgia, who drove the tractor trailer, managed to escape his truck. The truck then became fully engulfed in flames.

Several fire and police departments were on scene at 490 East between the Bushnell's Basin and Route 31 exits for hours. The investigation had a significant impact on Tuesday morning's commute. Traffic was fully re-opened around 9 a.m.Court documents show Pecora was arrested ten months ago in Farmington on DWI and aggravated DWI charges.

Pecora was arrested on January 22 on Plastermill Road. She pleaded guilty to that charged and had her license revoked for six months at her sentencing.

At the time of the crash, Pecora had an ignition interlock device on her vehicle.

No charges have been filed yet in this case."
