Jessica Lange has had a career resurgence on the show "American Horror Story".. but she says she's planning on leaving after one more season, because she's preparing to retire from acting.
Jessica, who's 64 years old, tells the "L.A. Times", quote, "I'm coming to the end of acting. I have a list: Another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of 'American Horror Story'.. and then that is it for me.
"I think that's enough. I want to go out with a bang.. or should I say, a scare?"
She's halfway through filming Season Three of "American Horror Story", so apparently, this means she's up for a fourth season.. and then she's walking away.
Jessica has won two Oscars in her 40-year career, and been nominated for four more.. but has spent most of the past 15 years doing small indie movie roles and TV movies.
But she won an Emmy for the first season of "American Horror Story", and was nominated for the second season. She also won an Emmy for the 2009 HBO movie "Grey Gardens".
Jessica has loved doing "American Horror Story". She says, quote, "It reenergized me. It reenergized my career.. It's exposed me to a whole new generation, which is a little strange. I'm not used to young people thinking I'm cool."
Still, nothing is set in stone. A couple of weeks ago, "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy said, "Every year, she says, 'OK, that's my last one.'"
